The Brain Injury Alliance of Washington’s mission is to increase public awareness, support, and hope for those affected by Brain Injury through education, assistance, and advocacy. Our vision is a world where Brain Injury is prevented, and every person already affected by its impact benefits from resources that maximize their quality of life.
Seattle BrainWorks is a community-based day program that provides short- and long-term support to people who have experienced Brain Injury. The program is centered around the “clubhouse model,” in which Brain Injury survivors carry out the work of running the clubhouse. Through participation in the Clubhouse, members are able to transition from being "patients" to again being active participants in life. At the Clubhouse, members work on strengthening relationships with friends and family, and on gaining skills and accessing opportunities to pave the way back to work.
